Okoboji Wines Philosophy and Mission Statement

 

We began in 1989 with a straight forward vision -- to source artisanal wine from small producers in California, presenting them to wine enthusiasts in Iowa and South Dakota. Over the last 15 years, we have worked diligently to stay true to the quality that comes from farms of small production while expanding our representation of premium wineries and importers from around the world.

Through our hand selection, we express our value of the idea of terroir:  land and climate are the mother of all winestyles.  Terroir drives the personality of the wine we represent as we travel, research, and ride the cutting edge.  As layers of paint blend on canvas to produce fine art or different notes strung together give melody and harmony, each of our hand selected wines have their own unique place or purpose in our portfolio.

We have selected our employees carefully.  Our team has a passion and knowledge of great wine and cuisine.  We are the connection between the creator of fine wine and our valued customers who complete the process of placing the wine with the consumer. Our relationships are top priority.  As ambassadors of the wineries we represent, our goal is to come to our customers with the same zeal born in the vineyard, at the hands of the farmers and winemakers.
